[Resolved] Redundant save dialog ?

zwazoo wrote on 8/17/2019, 11:35 AM

Sound Forge Pro 13, Build 100. After marking tracks, Control C-E to copy to new file, Control X-S to save, Control W to close, prompts to Save with a dialog box requiring a response. Previous versions SFP 11 & 12 did not. Do I need to set something to avoid this extra input or is this just the way it is in SFP13.

??? Is "Open as Read only" inadvertently engaged in "File> Open" or are the files locked as 'Read only, What format is the file(s)? (PCM, MP3, AAC, other?) .

Check the "Options> Preferences> General" >> "Confirm on close" and "Keep media files locked" settings.

I'll take a look at those settings. I suspect you might be right, as I was forced to reinstall everything when upgrading to SFP13 due to Windows 10 issues. Thanks,

File format both .wav & .flac. Files are not "read only" as I can edit them, it is the second confirmation after Control S, which saves as expected; Control W to "close" the already saved, or what appears to be a saved file, prompts to save again. If I tell it "no" and open the file, all saved edits are there. "Confirm on close" and "Keep media files locked" are unchecked. I'll check to see if something in Windows is hosed, but when I use Isotope RX-6 and preform the same procedure, no second prompt. I've been using SF since V4.5, and using the same procedure to process files for a long time.

Resolved: Check "Automatically reopen file after Save As".
