Hi

Try this:

  1. Ungroup the audio from the video - makes sure there is nothing on track 2!

  2. Ensure the mouse is in Single object mode (press 6 )

  3. Select the audio

  4. Move the timeline cursor to the start of the section you want to remove

  5. Press T

  6. Ensure the section of audio after the cut is still selected and move the timeline cursor to the end point of the part you want to remove.

  7. Press the Z key - this should remove the unwanted portion and leave a gap.

  8. Add the replacement audio to the timeline, trim and insert into the gap.

You can extract the sound by Ctrl+h, then separate it using the broken chain link. Then you can cut it out and leave the section silent.

Select a section of the same length with a bit you want to copy and do the same, copy it, and place it under your silent section.

Thus you have cut out the sound bite you did not want and patched something else in its place.

I am no expert but this worked for me.
