Sound Forge 15. I click the "Renew the Update Service" (Start Installation) button and I'm asked if I want to allow changes, I say yes and nothing happens. This happens every time I start Sound Forge. What is supposed to happen? Thank you for any help.

Nothing is supposed to happen. It's just an app that keeps track of the latest update of the program in question and advises you when there is a new update available.
It should go away unless your anti-virus program is stopping it from completing the process.

Thank you for answering. This recurring issue is new. It wants to update the "The Update Notifier" and asks for permission for the program to access the system. I give it permission and then it does nothing. I found a old version of the Update_Notifier_3.0.0.57_INT_200825_09-44_3_0_0_57.exe in the Magix installationmanager subfolder, tried running it as administrator, but it found a newer version running and did not run. I do not know where the new one is launching from. It launches whenever I start Sound Forge.
I am having the same problem. I followed the various suggestions here, including clearing out the hidden folder, preventing my virus checking from scanning the software folders, and reinstalling. I am using a fresh install of Windows 10 that I installed about a month ago, and every single time I open Sound Forge 15, I get the "Renew the Update Service" message, then I click "Start Installation", then that windows goes away, then the UAC windows pops up so I click "Yes" and then I can use Sound Forge.
However, it crashes sometimes and always when I am in the middle of saving a file, which is horrifying. Luckily, the software is able to recover the file, but this really sours me on using Magix software.
hi! there are at least two other threads about this...to remove it you can use the free version of the Revo Uninstaller in 'Hunter Mode'. Also, the developers have told me that a patch update is coming in two weeks that will remove that annoying message.

Two months later and nothing ... Magix hasn't fixed this.

None of the replies were helpful for me and the bug still exists in 2025.
I prevented the popup by navigating to C:\Program Files\SOUND FORGE\SOUND FORGE Audio Studio 15.0\UPS and deleting Service_rel_u_x64_vc16.exe
