Rendering text for use as overlay in another video editor

epjl2000 wrote on 6/24/2016, 12:43 AM

Hey guys,

Is there a way I can render out the video tracks with text of my project as a movie file, then use that as an overlay on another video track in another video editor? Is there a setting where I can specify the background to be transparent so that the new video can blend with the text?

Thanks for any help!

Cheers,

Justin

Hi,

Titles are melt in the video background this is impossible to capture only the text and remove the background but you can use your original Magix Movie Edit Pro file (mvp) open in Magix, and strip or mute (M) the video track. Now use a track with a green background may be a rectangle 1920 x 1080 pixel color pure green and export text overlay the green background. Export 1920 x 1080.

Open the work you need text, and use your exported green text movie and use the chromakey effect.

The other way is open the original file and copy and paste title on WordPad. Remake the movie using the copy paste.

Hi,

Alternatively, do up your video first in the other program, import the wmv file into MEP and add the titles.

I did successfully export a title only from VPX with no backdrop, which means black, imported it into Pinnacle Studio, and gave it a luma key transparency. Worked fairly well. So do some tests to see what works the best.

Hi John,

That is the avantage is the program can generate a SRT or a SAMI file you can export and reimport in the new video file.

The best is to export title with a green background, and use the video file with chromakey function.
