Rendering project to WAV file is taking a long time

i am trying to render a project song to a WAV file with some problems.

the song is 19 tracks at a length of 3:30. the program goes to render and it quickly gets to estimated time of completion being hour(s) or more. normally this takes a couple of minutes at the most.

i am using acid pro 10, windows 10

thoughts anyone?

thanks

You didn't mention if this is happening with every song from now on, or if you are using any 3rd party plugins but here is my guess, are you using 3rd party plugins in this song? If this is happening only with this project, my guess is there is a plugin in there that is slowing everything down. The only other guess would be that there is a sample in the mix that is stored on some external drive that is taking too long to save. Try changing USB connections.

Unfortunately, Acid Pro (regardless of which version at this point) is still very unstable. Acid makes up its mind about when its going to start doing weird things. So use with caution.

All samples and plug ins are on the main hard drive. Nothing is being transferred via usb.

Other than backing all the plugins out what are some other options?

@martin-smith There are a lot of things that could be contributing to slow rendering. Trying with plugins disabled would definitely be a way to go, and should be relatively easy to test. Also, what Sample Rate and Bit Depth are you using to render? If you've pumped those up you might find some plugins, especially older ones, don't really like higher sample rates or bit depths...

If you can play the song back on the timeline okay you can also try a realtime render, which will essentially save the audio buffer out to a WAV file in realtime, so the render will take as long as your song.

Same problem here, only render never completes. I am running no plug-ins that aren't preinstalled on ACID 10 and have made no changes in Sample Rate or Bit Depth.
