Assuming you mean an existing audio file eg mp3, wav, etc then this is not possible.  It is like trying to seperate the ingredients for a cake after they have been mixed together.

Yes it does.

If the cassette tapes are fairly old then the 'reverb' you are hearing, unless it is room echo,  may be what is called print through,

Thanks johnebaker for your reply, and more so for including an explanatory article. I am always interested to read more about my new pet project (digitizing cassette tapes) but I am clueless about how to search for references, especially when I am ignorant of what terms to use to search by. This is why the PDF manual of Audio & Music Lab Premium and this forum are very important for me.
