Are you referring to Movie Edit Pro 11 or MX?

You cannot change the size of the object grid - it is detemined by the frame rate of the project. 

Above the timeline you should see a Magnet icon this turns on/off the grid whether it is on or off appears to have no effect as you cannot move a clip any less than 1 whole frame.

Depending on which version of MEP you have - right click the audio track and select Set audio/video offset - you can then use the dialog to offset the video/audio.

Search the help for Object Grid for further information.

John,

I'm using MX.  The frame rate is 31/s.  I cannot move the video per frame (within one second).  The program will only let me move the clip beginning per 1 second.  That is, there is a vertical line and when I drag and drop the clip the program forces the end to snap to the next even 1 second marker as determined by the program.


Thus the clip will not match up with the audio.  I have 6 video clips I'm resourcing from and an imported mp3.  I need all the clips to line up with the audio import.


Why won't the program allow me to drag and drop per frame?  Instead it only allows a forced drop/snap on the next 1 second increment.

Hi

Make sure the audio and video on each clip are ungrouped.

Place the timeline marker at the beginning of a clip and select the clip, zoom in on the timeline using the + button, bottom right of the timeline, until you can see individual frame numbers, then drag the video - you should be able to drag 1 frame at a time.

This image shows a 1 frame offset between the video and audio with the video selected and not the audio (they are ungrouped)
