Red Book Authoring question

Doug-Benson wrote on 11/12/2022, 3:55 PM

Hello

I have used CD Architect for many years without issue; suddenly after this week's Windows 10 update it crashes whenever I try to add media. I discovered that Sound Forge 12 allows Red Book authoring, but I can't get it to work properly. How do you add tracks to the timeline? When I follow the instructions in the manual every new track just overwrites the old one as track 1. Am I missing some part of the initial setup? The instructions are vague.

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @Doug-Benson.

Sorry to say, I am not sure about Sound Forge 12 (Audio Studio 12 was a unique build) and I do not currently have it installed to investigate.
Try dragging the file in, copy/paste, or enable "Amend to current data window" (In the 'Open' window, if AS-12 has the option). The 'Event' mode may make it easier to paste in and move files around as well
I would try uninstalling/reinstalling CD Arc first though.

@Doug-Benson

Hi

See this topic with solution on the same issue - the manual pages may be different numbers as you have an older version of Sound Forge..
