Thank you, SP., I checked the permissions for the microphone, and they were in line with your suggestion. I might have to go to my local computer repair and seek help...😒

In the article @SP. linked to in step 3 did you follow the last sentence:

'For desktop apps, make sure that Allow desktop apps to access your microphone is turned on.' ie

If this is on, and you still cannot record from the microphone - what type of microphone connection is it USB or 3.5mm jack?

Does the microphone work with the Windows Voice Recorder?

Hi John,

Yes, it is on. The microphone must be internal because there is not one connected externally...I didn't have any issues before the Microsoft update. I record streaming audio.
