My microphone seems to be picking up the audio of me playing about a beat behind the metronome, it makes it impossible to layer tracks on top of one another. is there a way to fix this?
@Pearse-Smith Please check your driver settings. Go to File > Settings > Program Settings > Audio/MIDI. Make sure you select an ASIO driver, for example Music Maker ASIO. Click on the Advanced button to open the driver settings. Here you can select the audio input and audio output. You can also set the buffer size to something reasonable like 512 samples.
If you still record the playback sound of your first track open the Windows sound settings by right clicking on the speaker icon in the Windows Taskbar and disable the recording option Stereo Mix.
