Recording 2 microphones

Hi, I have 2 microphones connected to a focusrite scarlett 2i2. When I try to record using Sound Forge, each microphone only records in 1 channel, and when I playback I only hear 1 microphone in each speaker. So microphone 1 in the left speaker, and microphone 2 in the right speaker. What can I do to make the recordings playback both microphones through both speakers? The only solution I have found is to record in 4 channel and manually force each microphone to play in the opposing channel as well, will this lower sound quality though? Any help is appreciated

@2microphones … Try Process/Channel Converter - then Preset: "Stereo to Stereo - Pan Centre, use both channels (100%)"@ - or another preset that suits.

@2microphones Here's how I would set up a two-channel recording.

First select "File" > "New..." > then change Channels to "2 (Stereo)".

Then under "Options" > "Preferences" > "Audio" tab make sure Audio Device Type is your Focusrite/Scarlett, and under the "Record" tab make sure Channel 1 and 2 line up with Input 1 and 2.

Back in the main window, when you hit record, the Left Channel should be Input 1 and the Right Channels should be Input 2. (You can always extract each channel as a mono file.)
