I'm not familiar with M-audio interfaces, but in general as I recall... in the "View>Record Options" menu, which should be selected prior to recording, un-check the 'Monitor' box

I tried that, still a delay in the audio "Test, test" "Hello, hello". Can't use headphones or monitor speakers. Delay.

Thanks for the input though. Driving me nuts.

Make sure to use hardware monitoring of your audio device or try lowering the buffer size in your devices driver.

Hope that helps.

@Robert-Higgins

Did you install the M-Audio Asio driver? Did you select it under Preferences, System options?

You need to use an Asio driver to reduce latency.

Are you monitoring through headphones connected to the computer or the M-Audio?

Which M-Audio are you using? I have the M-Track and I monitor with headphones connected to it, monitoring a mix of direct and USB.
