Record MIDI with Music Maker 2014 Premium on Transformer Tablet with Win 8.1 Full Edition

I have used music software on my desktop connected to varous synths for many years. Now, I want to use Music Maker on a tablet with my synth connected to a USB port. I am considering the purchase of an ASUS Transformer Book T100TA 10.1" tablet. It runs full Windows 8.1, not the RT version. It has a mini-USB 2.0 port. My synth is currently successfully working with Music Maker on my Win7 desktop PC connected via USB 2.0.

Has anyone successfully used Music Maker with any tablet - Windows, Android, iOS or other - to record MIDI?

If yes, what do I need to know before purchasing the tablet? I must do this right, because I live in Costa Rica. I will have to have the tablet shipped down here ... so returns are not an option.

Hi

IMHO you would be wasting time and money trying to do this with an Atom powered tablet.

Personally I would invest in a decent laptop with an Intel i3 or i5 processor.

. . . . I will have to have the tablet shipped down here ... so returns are not an option. . . . .

Forgive my curiosity - what would you do about Warranty repairs?

I won't be doing any heavy lifting with the Atom. It will be used for recording and playing back MIDI mostly. The Atom will be able to handle that. I already have a couple of laptops that I have used successfully with the synth, but I need something that I can operate without a keyboard and can place on  the music rack of my synth.

I have lived outside the US for 10 years now. I just take a chance on needing warranty coverage. I've ordered a lot of stuff over the years ... so far, so good. The prices for electronics here are about double those in the US. Add to that,  I am again buying refurbished and the price is a tiny fraction of what I would pay here. Even if the Transformer didn't work at all, my net savings at this point would still exceed a couple thousand dollars ... I have lots of equipment.
