Recommendations to reduce multicam stutter editing AVCHD files?

Does anyone have recommendations to reduce stuttering video playback in Multi-cam mode? The stuttering is so bad that it's impossible to choose the best video switching points accurately.

My computer specs;

64 bit Windows 7 Pro
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor
8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460

I'm working on two monitors so I may shut down one monitor if need be but prefer to view the multicam display in 2nd monitor. Just wondering if there are program settings to optimize for my hardware.

My setup is probabl;y a bit better for AVCHD (an i7 laptop) so I don't see much stuttrering, but when I had a desktop with the same CPU it couldn't preview two streams of AVCHD smoothly.

Have you considered prerendering the area you want to edit? I set a range and forced it toe render and the Multicam seems to work well.
