Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users forum @Karen-Saltus.

Confirm the "Recently used file list" is enabled (check-mark) in the "Options> Preferences> General" menu.

Yes. Nothing's changed since I got a new computer in late August and re-installed SF10 (I've been using SF since 4.5). The last time a Recent File was saved was late September.

EXCEPT: Interestingly, right after I submitted my support question, SF started showing recently OPENED files, but not recently SAVED files. I had recorded a file, saved it, then re-opened it later to edit it. That unedited file showed up in the list, but then when I finished editing and saved it with a different name, that file didn't show up in the list.

I do not recall that issue with any version for SF Pro in Win 10. ( I use SF Pro 10 frequently btw) If newly saved files were not opened after saving, they would not show on the recent file list. There is a setting in "Options> Preferences> General" that will "Automatically open the new file after Save as" Otherwise, if the above is not the case, try cleaning the PC with CCleaner and run the secondary registry cleaner as well. Both the freeware and pro versions of CCleaner are highly regarded.

You can also try clearing the Recently used files" list: disable (un-check) the "Recently used files", exit SF and then re-launch and re-enable the 'Recently used files", to start anew.

You're a genius! I checked "automatically open the new file after save as" and my files are now showing up in the Recent files list. I had unchecked that because everytime I save a file and close it, there's an open (empty) file left on SF. I don't know why that happens so I've been trying to get rid of it.

When I re-installed SF on my new PC, I had to customize everything the way I like it and sometimes things get left out when I do that, apparently.

Thanks so much! This has been driving me crazy!

By the way, recently I started getting a message when I clicked on SF to open it about admin privileges, but when I clicked on it, nothing happened. SF wouldn't open unless I right clicked on the icon and selected "run as admin". I finally found a reference somewhere online about right clicking on the .exe file and selecting "run as admin" and that fixed it. I didn't check on this forum because it took me forever to find the forum on this site.

This is a recurring 'elevated privilege' issue with SF Pro 10 and happens after 'some' Win 10 updates. Eliminating the 'run as administrator' annoyance requires a registry tweak. Go the the link below to read my comment for the registry edit. Heed the warning about editing the registry,
Unfortunately, the registry tweak is not a permanent solution and may need to be done again at some point. Magix versions of SF Pro do not have this issue, nor is a problem on SF-9 and prior
