Thank you
There are various ways we can use, suppose you imported a backing track intro and that is in the first track of three bars. Now in the second track you want to record vocals. You have to calculate the time of three bars or intro in the first track. Suppose, the intro is of 5 seconds before you hit recording vocals start counting/use stop watch then start vocal recording or first play the background in Music Maker keep looking at the screen as intro is about to end start vocals. For reference see the screen shot from Music Maker 16 Premium. In the first track there are three bars of Intro. In the second track there is a vocal which begins when the intro of first track ends.
Or if you are good at editing, record your vocal then adjust according to the intro. In the Music Maker we can cut, paste or group the audio very easily therefore editing is not difficult but you should zoom the track for precise work.
Another idea would be to use a click track during recording (yes I know it is annoying for the musicians) but it helps to establish the beat and timing of the recording when using frame based software vs time based software.
I have been editing audio for many years and it was actually much easier with the old analog tape machines and a good hardware editor than it is with frame based machines because you only get to make adjustments at the frame level which is dependant on the frame rate selected. These types of editors do not allow you to edit at less than one frame, so if your offset is say 1 millisecond you are kind of out of luck.
