Re-install Movie Edit Pro MX

robertr7930 wrote on 4/16/2013, 10:05 PM

Movie Edit Pro MX does not start.  Message "Error loading audiovis.dll".

My version number is 11.0.3.0

I may have accidently deleted this file. Since last using MEP I have installed Audio Cleaning Lab 2013, MP3 Deluxe MX and something called Magix Screenshare appeared out of nowhere. I also deleted a couple of unused start ups.

I currently have installed the following relevant programs.

Magix Movie Edit Pro MX Download Version

Magix Movie Edit Pro MX Download Version (Fade Effects)

Magix Movie Edit Pro MX Download Version (Menu Templates 1)

I believe I probably have to re-install MEP and my question is do I have to remove some or all of the above applications before doing so or will the installation do an overwrite / repair or removal without my intervention. I can't find any specific information on this. Thanks in advance.

Hi

Try reinstalling MEP again - you should be offered the option to Repair the installation.

The other installations should not affect MEP.  Screenshare is installed with MEP.

When you say you 'deleted a couple of unused start ups' - what did you actually delete?

You should never delete any of the installation files.

Hi John.

Thanks for that. I thought that may have been the case but was looking for some sort of confirmation.

A couple of things I deleated were things like Nuance cloud connector and Gaiho collaboration network which were becoming a nuisance. Didn't delete any actual installation files.

Will give re-installation a go to=morrow.

Thanks John

Re-installation did the trick. Seems to have fixed the problem. The re-installation actually removed the previous and all its components and did a complete install. The difference was when I activated the new installation the serial number fields were already filled in. The repair option was not offerred. It did a complete strip.

Thanks once again
