Quirky noise when recording streaming sound

When importing streaming sound (from vinyl, radio, internet, Spotify etc.) there is a momentary noise like 'BZZZ' every now and then. Sometimes it's a number of times in a minute (e.g. 10-15 times), other times there's no such noise at all. Recording from CD is perfectly fine. Every noise instance is pretty much the same length, about 0.25-0.5 s, I would guess. It doesn't show on the graphics, it's less in strength than the music itself. It doesn't matter if it's in a high or low level part of the music, it appears anywhere.

Going through my old vinyls it's quite annoying to have this quirky noise... Remedy?

Hi,

I never heard of such a problem and never had the same problem, too. Which version of the software do you use? XP, Vista or Win7? Do you use the onboard soundcard or do you have a more professional interface? How are your soundcard-settings? Maybe the buffer is to small and causes the noises. Are the soundcard-drivers up to date? Have you tried the asio4all-driver?

Best regards from Gemany,

Martin

I'm running XP Pro 2002 SP3, 2.9 GHz, 1.87 GB RAM, Audiophile from M-Audio coming in on a USB (maybe that's the problem. When importing CD I use either a simpler CD/DVD player/recorder or the nicer Plextor SCSI Plexwriter 12/10/32S). i'll see if I can alter the importing via the Audiophile/USB...

Hi,

After listening to your audio and reading the information given byyou I think your Audiophile usb interface need some settings. I hope you have already done installation, according to Pdf manual version: AP-050103l it says

3. Configure your digital recording software to use the Audiophile USB as
its active audio device (see “Using the Audiophile USB with your
Software Application” and also your software application’s manual).
4. Hook up your digital and analog audio gear (see “Audiophile USB
Recording Tutorials”). Configure your Audiophile USB Control Panel
software for proper monitoring and playback.

When we use Music Maker, we do setting in the Music Maker also in the Control panel where we choose device and Line or Mic. If I am not wrong same will goes with your Audio Cleaning software.

If possible why not TEST without Audiophile connect your audio gear with computer then use Audio cleaning and see if you face same problem.

Additional: If there is a possibility to set buffer speed in your Audiophile/Control Panel, in my Tascam audio interface I can set that Audio Performence to highest.

Please check yours.

Thank you
