Question about Movie Edit Pro 2016 Plus

I just bought Movie Edit Pro 2016 Plus.    I also use Camtasia, but am really disappointed in the horrible lag during editing.   Any way,   As you can see in the picture above,  Camtasia has a nice marker system,  to start/stop playback in a certain area,  or if you want to mark sections to cut/copy/delete.   (green marker is start,  red is finish)

Does Movie Edit Pro 2016 have this?   All I see is one line, that is used to start where you want to play from, etc.   I can figure out how to select certain areas easily?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, you can create a range above the time marker of the tracks, the area to the right of the padlock above the tracks - left click to start range, right-click to end. There are commands under the top menu, Edit, Edit range, to edit the range. There are also commands to playback range (brackets in transport control,  loop playback (in program settings) and render, export the range. Under Edit, Markers, there are project markers, chapter markers, snap markers and range commands. Shortcuts I to set range start, O range end. Etc.

There are also trim commands. Right-click on the scissors to see them. Learn how to use them, because you'll use them a lot.

Or for better clarity.

I suggest that you take a look at the tutorial on Getting started in MEP to make sure that you have everything. Next tutorial coming soon.

As for lag, search through some of the thread here about this. There are ways to overcome this. What are your OS and computer specs? Did you update to the latest patch?

There is a button at the bottom right of the preview monitor that will help speed up playback.
