Proxy file generation now corrupt

jeffjn wrote on 3/17/2013, 3:07 AM

Magix Video Pro X5 versions  12.0.10.28: and 12.0.11.2

This problem began with a new project. Whenever I generate proxy files they come out corrupt - please see the screenshot

.

This started yesterday (I think) before I added the new patch, but I'm going to re-install to check. I haven't updated anything else

Two types of source file have shown this, full HD 1920*1080 .mov files and mp4 filers, both h 264 format. I've tried three of the proxy settings, Fastest, HD and DVD.

My system was working well before this as I hade worked for over a week on a HD muti-cam project using proxies. but for the record I'm using a W7 64-bit laptop with an i7 processor and both intel HD 3000 and nVideo 525m graphics.

Hi

I think the Patch is supposed to fix that. Make sure you do a "reset program to defaults" after installing the patch.

Have a look at this thread from the German members http://www.magix.info/us/falche-darstellung-im-vorschaumonitor-pro-x5.forum.923345.html . Use the microsoft translator built into internet explorer > Rt. click > translate this page.

Hi Ss and thanks

I seem to have got it working by resetting to defaults.

Can't wquaite make out from the thread if this is something to do with GPU v software rendering, but so long as it works!

Cheers

Just a word of warning. I can't be sure that the two things are related, but when I tried to begin work again this morning, the project was completly empty.

Hi Jeffjn

That is strange and should not be related to the program reset. Can you load a backup of the problem project?

I think there may be a relationship which is supposed to be corrected with the patch but if you go to any of the program settings tabs where there is a reference to GPU or Hardware Acceleration and try  preview after ticking or unticking the respective boxes, you might learn something about what is happening. Apart from affecting stuff that we can not see, a program reset sets these options to what Magix considers optimum for most users and computer configurations but not always.
