First off, the program keeps crashing when I try to export into the default Wave file option. Closing the program and restarting the computer does NOT FIX the problem.
Secondly, I was previously able to export projects to MP3 when I purchased the software. Now I cannot and was told that I must 'buy the premium version' of MMM. What is up with that? Bait and switch?

@Donald-Quarnstrom You need to be logged in to export as MP3. The crash might have logged you out or you're not correctly logged in any longer. Please try to log out and back in.
Also make sure you have configured an ASIO driver in the program settings, for example the Music Maker ASIO driver. A driver problem can cause a crash.
I'm having the same problems where my computer crashes all the time, also when saving the projects
