problems with imported pictures being horizontal not vertical

I just purched movie edit pro 16 and am trying to do a slide show with pictures and music. The pictures I imported show that they are Vertical (protrait) but they show on the slide show horizontally.
The pictures were originally taken vertically, then edited and saved horizontal.

How do i get those pictures rotated in MEP 16?

Once you have the photos loaded, make sure you are in the Story Board mode...

This mode shows each picture as a slide, and around the slide are different tool sets that allow you to add in text, effects, and rotate.

The top of each slide has a icon in the middle for rotating the image shown.
