Problems with guitar recoring (Amplitude)

Hey!
I have been using magix for just over a year now.
I've been recording my guitars using Amplitude plugin via Magix, but recently I had to make a system reset and since then I haven't been able to use amplitude inside of magix.
It just cannot find it!
I am 100% sure that the VST files is in the right folder, and the aux plugins is in the right place.

So I would like to hear what you folks record guitar's with?
And if anyone else i having problems with Amplitude.

PS. I'm using the third edition, since Amplitude 4 never worked.

Do you mean Samplitude?

What is the full program name and version number as it appears under Help, About . . . ?

Do you mean recording you playing a real guitar or using one of the guitar synthesizers within the program ?

If a real guitar, how and through what are you connecting this to the computer?

Do you mean you did a 'Reset system settings to default' ?

Assuming the program is Samplitude - check the program settings (Y key) Effects , VST, DirectX, ReWire file paths include the folders where the VST's are located you can add multiple paths to include other folders.

Which version of Windows do you have installed?

If Windows 10 was this an upgrade from 7 or 8 ?

Hey!
I have been using Magix Music Maker 2016, for just over a year now.
I've been recording my guitars (real guitars) using the Amplitube plugin (Made by IK Multimedia) via Magix Music Maker 2016, but recently I had to make a system reset (System reset to default, but saving my personal files) and since then I haven't been able to use amplitube inside of magix music maker 2016.
It just cannot find it! (normally I would find it under "Plugins" using the mixer).
I am 100% sure that the VST files (From Amplitube 3, made by IK Multimedia) is in the right folder, and the aux plugins is in the right place.

So I would like to hear what you folks record guitar's with?
And if anyone else i having problems with Amplitube.
I have tried my way with Guitar Rig 5 (from Native instruments), and it is able to load inside of Magix Music Maker 2016, but I would prefer to be able to use Amplitube 3 again.

I am using a windows 10 computer, i5 processor and more than enough RAM.
I have a "Amplitude 3 dpm" file inside the folder "Plug-ins"
I have a Amplitube 3.aaxplugin folder inside the "Audio plugin" folder
I have a Amplitube 3.dll files inside of the VST folder.

First, thanks for the detailed information and second, thanks for reminding me about IK Multimedia - I downloaded Sample tank about 2 yrs ago and had forgotten all about it.

Are the folders for:

  1. . . . . Amplitude 3 dpm file inside the folder "Plug-ins" . . . .

    AFAICS this format is not supported by Music Maker

    Is this C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\VstPlugIns or C:\Program Files\VstPlugins or both.

    If the folder is as above then you need to add C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\VstPlugIns to Music Makers list of VST folder paths. There is no need to add the second folder path Music maker will not recognise the VST.

    If neither what is the folder path?

Hey, pardon for the slow replay.
Urm, the vst folder is D:\Program files\MAGIX\VST

The VstPlugIns folder on the C drive exsisted, but it was empty - and now deleted.
When Amplitube was installed I specificly asked it to place every VST related files under the folder: D:\Program files\MAGIX\VST

Hi,

D:\Program files\MAGIX\VST would be for 64 bit VST's. MusicMaker is a 32 bit program and will not load 64 bit VST's.

This is the correct location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins

Hi John EB,

I don't recall, but I think that Melda put it in both folders as that is where I have it and all of the free ones. In fact, the file names are the same for 64 and 32 bits, but the sizes are not.

yea, magix does use the 32 bits, but I've specificly asked magix, during installation, to put 32 bits in the VST folder on the D drive, and 64 bits in the VST3 folder on the D drive.

my C drive shouldnt be the problem. Everything, but windowscore, is installed on my D drive.
