Problems when installing Acid Pro 10

andrew-wilson wrote on 6/26/2020, 2:18 PM

I have an upgrade to Acid Pro 10. When I start the installation process the software says 'there may not be enough disc space to install this software' and then continues to the installation dialogue box. There is plenty enough disk space for the application.

I then click install and after a few seconds an error dialogue box appears and tells me that 'installationsmanager has stopped working' the program quits.

That's it. I can't install Acid Pro 10.

Anyone else had this issue?

Hi

. . . . When I start the installation process the software says 'there may not be enough disc space to install this software' and then continues to the installation dialogue box. There is plenty enough disk space for the application. . . . .

The installation process should have at least double the space needed for the actual program installation.

How much free disk space is there?

I have 46gb spare on that drive - but I am not clear how I can specify which drive it gets installed on. It is trying to install on my C: drive

I assume from this, and from your comment about your C:\ drive, that you are actually trying to install the software on a drive other than C:\. Is that correct?

I don't have Acid so can't be sure of this but all recent Magix software has included a "Custom Installation" option when you initially run the installer. Did you see that and select it? One of its options is a different drive. The default will always be C:\ so if you want it to install elsewhere you have to indicate that change, before installation is fully running.

One other thought: 46GB spare on that drive is really not a whole lot of space to install everything that the program requires, including the loops etc., and still leave a reasonable amount of free space.

Jeff,

Thanks for your reply.

I hope this is all sorted now. Despite saying that it needs less than 17gb to install Acid Pro 10, the installer actually needs there to be over 60gb free to actually install.

Very misleading!
