Problems after updating Movie Studio 17 Platinum to version 179

After updating Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum to version build 179 yesterday, I'm having all kinds of problems and crashes: it opens projects from the older version (I think it was 149 or something) but it won't play them right, lot's of black or red screens where there used to be video. Also when I'm starting new projects it crashes very soon, everything freezes and there's nothing I can do but close down the whole program. Also I don't get a preview of effects as long as I have the Video Track Effects window open, only as soon as I close that window I see the preview of the effect. Nothing works like it did before, I wish I could go back to the older version so I can continue to work on my projects. Is this a known issue of this update? Can anybody help? Thanks in advance!

I'm using a desktop PC Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, AMD Ryzen 2700X Eight-Core Processor, 32 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 710
