Problem with my Explorer Favorites

Hi,

Recently upgraded to SF12 64bit from v11 (64bit Windows 7) and I'm having trouble getting the Favorites section of the browser to work. I can add folders to favorites during a session as normal but when I close down SF and re-open the Favorites folder is back to it's default empty state. I've looked in the AppData/Roaming/MAGIX/ folder and it seems to be creating a new weirdly named folder each time - see this screenshot -

In each of the strange folders is a ExplorerFavorites.txt file. Some are blank, some have the correct favorites in there. I've tried overwriting every single one with the correct file and this then works when you open the session. However, when I close and re-open it's back to default blank favorites again :(

Any ideas how to fix this?

Are you selecting 'Organize' from the 'Favorites menu and dragging the desired plug-in to it?

None of Pro 12 builds I've used exhibited this.

Maybe a fresh install will fix it. Use a third-party uninstaller that removes the old reg, entries if you go this route

Hi, thanks for the quick response. Sorry for the confusion, I am talking about the favourites folder in the file explorer not the plugins favourite folder. It's for quickly accessing certain folders I use a lot .

It worked fine in SF11. I have tried reinstalling. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Hi again - I have now also done a fresh install on a different machine (a laptop running Windows 10). Unfortunately I am getting the same error. If anyone using the PC version could just try opening the Explorer (from View menu), then right clicking on a folder and selecting 'Add to My Favourites'. Now close SF12 and re-open. Is the folder still under Favourites or is that category empty?

I think Magix forgot to update that code from the older Win OS. i,e,, My Documents, My Music, My Videos, ect. And yes it does not work with SF Pro 12.... or Pro 10 and 11 for that matter. Personally I've never used that in any version of SF.

Contact MAGIX Support, log in and follow the menu to Sound Forge Pro 12 request form.

Thanks for your response - I've created a ticket with support now. I'll post if/when anything gets resolved.

I am also experiencing the same problem. Just installed SF Pro 13 (Build 24). Closing the program and restarting it clears out everything under "Favorites"
