Problem adding a soundpool to Music Maker

56kul wrote on 3/2/2022, 7:27 PM

I purchased a soundpool from producerplanet. I did exactly as was specified in the official article regarding the matter; I went to loops, I went to the settings and I clicked add a soundpool and chose the soundpool's folder. All it did was make the loops tap freeze for a second and then just select the soundpool at the bottom.

This is very frustrating, I paid a lot of money for that soundpool! What do I do?

And yes, I did try relaunching Music Maker and attempting to add it again, multiple times.

@56kul Did you extract the downloaded ZIP file?

If you want to add it to the Loops manager it needs to be a Magix Soundpool. Producerplanet also sells a lot of different third party loops that cannot be added to the Loops manager. In this case you need to use the internal file browser or drag and drop the audio files from Windows Explorer into your project.

@56kul

Hi,

If what you purchased was really a Soundpool and not just loops, like for Acid, then you probably downloaded a zip file. Is that what you did and got?

If so, you first have to unzip the file or at least copy the Soundpool folder from the zipped file (using Windows Explorer) with its name to where you have Soundpools stored, most likely under:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools

Then add that folder to Soundpool Loops in Music Maker.

@browj2 Yes, I unzipped it. I also already tried to go to that destination already, since it I tried googling possible ways to fix this before making this post and someone said to do that. For whatever reason, it doesn’t exist.

56kul wrote on 3/2/2022, 11:46 PM

@SP. yes, I unzipped it. Dragging and dropping each loop from the folder to the project seems very tedious. Is there no way to add it properly? I downloaded it in .wav.

SP. wrote on 3/3/2022, 2:34 AM

@56kul Which loops did you download?

@56kul

Hi

Assuming, after unzipping the SoundPool, all the loops were in a folder with the name of the soundpool, you drag the entire folder to the location given by @browj2 it will then appear as other pools under the SoundPool tab for use in the same way as any other Soundpool.

Hey, @johnebaker .

As I’ve already said, that destination doesn’t exist for me, for some reason. Any other way I can find my soundpool’s folder?

SP. wrote on 3/3/2022, 4:15 AM

@56kul Please say first, what loops you downloaded. It doesn't make sense to add them to your Soundpool folder if you downloaded loops from a third party or ACID loops since they can't be added.

56kul wrote on 3/3/2022, 5:22 AM

@SP. It is indeed an ACID soundpool. But why can’t I add it? Is it really not possible? Are there no effective workarounds?

SP. wrote on 3/3/2022, 5:26 AM

@56kul You need to build your own Soundpool out of the loops. Just look into some different Soundpool folders to learn how they are structured. You have a BPM.inf file with information about tempo and pitch levels. Then you have subfolders for the different instrument types. The file names of the loops end with a number which corresponds to the pitch levels.

Maybe it's easier to use a sample manager like ADSR (free) or Sononym (excellent, but costs money).

I gave you the path for Soundpools. They will be there if you didn't change the path during installation of Music Maker. Also, you can look in the Program Settings, Folders tab for the path to Soundpools.

As you have been told, ACID loops are not structured like Soundpool loops. You can always get ACID Music Studio if you want an easy way to use the ACID loops. There is presently a HumbleBundle offering that includes this and much more.

@browj2 This bundle is how I got music maker, actually! I’ll give it a shot, then.

@SP. Where do you download ADSR?
