Hi

. . . . how much do magix get from commercial licensing of a soundpool?. It says for example 0.59 cents per copy or download ??...or sold unit on internet that includes your sound loop . . . .

Where does it say this?

Between the duplicate post - please do not do this - and this topic, it would appear you are confusing two different things - I am guessing these are:

  1. the commission Magix will take if you upload and sell your own created sound loops on the older Catooh site which does have the option of selling.

  2. what you can do with the Pro licence - see here on ProducerPlanet - there appears to be no facility to sell your own created soundloops etc.

Note: Catooh and ProducerPlanet are both Magix websites.

Still don't know what you're talking about. If you mean can you sell individual loops from a Magix Soundpool, the answer is no. You can obtain a professional license to use a loop in the context of a song that will be published for commercial purposes. If you want the license for multiple loops of the same Soundpool, it would probably be less costly to simply obtain the Pro Licence for the entire Soundpool. Read the license information in the link provided by John EB.

Thanks for the PMs and link.

. . . . It says for example 0.59 cents per copy or download . .

The 0.59 cents is the starting price for the Image Pro licence which is not what you require.

. . . . . . pro unlimited licence $0.99 to $1099 . . . .

This is price range of the Audio Pro Unlimited licences available, the actual price you pay depends on which Soundpool you buy.

The PDF terms and conditions for the licence types have more details on usage limits - the link to them is the next row down from the blue headings in the table.

From your PM:

. . . . Are u telling me that pro unlimited licence if i saw fot 0.59 cents means that all i have to pay for unlimited spins ..unlimited duplicates ..unlimited downloads etc . . . Or us it per unit ?... . . . .

The usage allowances are clearly defined in the licence table you have been looking at on Catooh and the PDF files explain quite clearly the terms and conditions for the different licences.

So 0.59 cents for unlimited spins on radio. Unlimited duplication..unlimited downloads ..exactly like i see on the table and NOT 0.59 CENTS PER UNIT.

Im confused because it looks awfully cheap.

Hi

. . . . Im confused because it looks awfully cheap . . . .

The cheapest Advanced Pro Unlimited licence I can find is $0.99 (US) for a small selection of Sounds at different BPM.

Which sound did you see for $0.59 on Catooh ?

I mean i see 0.99 so is that it ...then i can use unlimited?

johnebaker wrote on 2/5/2019, 4:55 AM

@mo-m

Hi

. . . . So frustrating...i just cant get a straight answer. 0.99 cents means unlimited everything . And not per UNIT?????? . . . .

That depends on what you mean by 'unlimited everything '

It does not mean, if you buy one Advanced Pro licence, you can use that licence for all Soundpools used to create a music track.

For each Soundpool or part of a Soundpool you use you need a licence per Soundpool - eg if you create a track using 3 different Soundpools or parts of 3 different Soundpools you need to purchase a licence for each Soundpool used.

Im talking about ONE SOUND LOOP. JUST ONE...0.99 CENTS UNLIMITED UNLIMITED ..CORRECT??

mo-m wrote on 2/5/2019, 7:46 AM

So 1 million copies or downloads ....0.99 cents all i have to pay. Because thats unlimited correct. Just one SOUND LOOP...JUST ONE SOUND LOOP. i dont pay more than 0.99 cents even if that SOUND LOOP as part of the track sells 80 million downloads..CORRECT?

Yes, that is essentially correct.

I think there was some confusion in the beginning of this thread whether you're actually talking about selling your content on Catooh and using content licensed from MAGIX on Catooh.

If you do have the "Audio Pro Unlimited" license of any MAGIX soundpool content, be it a single loop or a complete soundpool, you can use that loop content in as many songs as you like, and sell those songs as many times as you like. Please also see here:

http://www.catooh.com/uk/help_-_license_terms.270.html

You also don't need to pay any royalties to MAGIX based on the number of your sales. It's just the one-off payment for the license, and you're done.

In the future, most licenses for MAGIX soundpools will probably be sold via ProducerPlanet.com, rather than Catooh. ProducerPlanet does no longer feature such items as individual audio loops, but will focus mostly on complete soundpools. In order to further simplify things, it has also gotten rid of such in-between license types as "audio pro standard" or "audio pro advanced". So, you won't need to worry about hypothetical questions of how many units you'll be selling and what happens if you go beyond that number. Once you decide to "go pro", your license will have you covered for any amount of chart-breaking success you could hope for in your wildest dreams. 😉
