Previewing a Mix paste in Sound Forge Pro 64-bit

I have the latest SF Pro, but this can apply to earlier versions as well. After selecting a portion of data, I'll frequently cut it to the clipboard with Ctrl+X. Then I bring up the Mix Paste dialog and hit Preview to listen to what it will sound like before actually pasting it into the sound file.

Could there be any possible delay or other difference between using the preview feature and actually making the final paste into the sound file?

Also, occasionally when I cut to the clipboard and preview the mix paste it will freeze for a few seconds after doing a preview and I can't stop the preview orr do anything during this time.

I do not recall ever experiencing that behavior. How much audio are you copying to mix or paste in?

Try experimenting with different "Playback buffering" settings in "Options> Preferences> Audio".

Rraud, thanks so much for the response. It only happens when I'm making very small adjustments to the beginning and/or end of the selection. The amount of audio data varies quite a bit depending on how much I'm trying to edit. I mainly do this with dance music where I want the beats to line up 100% perfectly. That's why I wondered about if there's any difference in the preview vs. the final paste.
