Premium 2019 - A Serious Program Error Occurred

Robert-Jeffree wrote on 3/27/2021, 10:38 PM

I have just reinstalled Movie Edit Pro Premium 18.0.1.213

I place a video in the timeline, then try to apply an Effect/Template or Audio, every time the following error occurs and I am unable to proceed further, have tried reinstalling, changing locations where projects are stored, all to no avail. Can anyone give an insight to what is happening and how to correct it.

Thank you

Does the Qt5GuiMX64Qt57.dll exist on your PC and is it in your %ProgramFiles%\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Premium\2019 folder?

Is it possible that your antivirus software is incorrectly flagging this file as malicious and therefore quarantining it?

@Robert-Jeffree

Hello, Welcome

"Exception Access VIOLATION" can be related to ram memory issues, check for faulty ram?

Try running AV for malware or also try running the MEP in compatibility mode.

Try Reinstall with your AV disabled?

Before you reinstalled, did you use an app like the free Revo uninstaller to remove everything including remnant entries from the registry?

What is your Pc specs?

AntiVirus may have also updated and is now giving false positives as @Former user has mentioned.

Hi

This issue was raised a short while ago and last commented upon on 23 February: https://www.magix.info/us/forum/qt5guimx64qt57-dll--1266732/

(Hope that link works!)

I experienced the problem myself and thought I'd fixed it by following the recommendations in the thread. For no obvious reason, it occurred again a couple of weeks ago. I fixed it by reinstalling MEP and taking the opportunity thus created to disable all of Magix's advertising popups (the latter not necessarily the cause of the problem). I suggest you simply try a reinstallation, too, but no doubt the more experienced users on the forum will be able to provide more information on how to fix this problem.

Thank you all for your input, I tried all the solutions offered and also updated to 18.0.2.235 (seems I was 2 updates behind) and the issue appears to have resolved itself, but which solution or combination worked, I am not really able to tell, anyway program now working, thank you all

Hi Robert.

As the access violation was for a dynamic library link it is possible that the previous reinstall at that point did not have the necessary dll. file to hand until the rest of the updates downloaded.
