Possible glitch in the new updater program?

In less than 24 hours we have seen two posts. One by Gidd and one by Alexander8.

Both have had their program reporting issues with what seems to be the Intel HD graphics driver.

Both seem to have HD graphics drivers as reported as to being supported by MEP

Alexander8's processor supports HD630 as shown here.

and is having problems. Gidd could also have a processor that supports HD rather than UHD.

My processor supports UHD and is having no problems.

Gidd's copy of MEP was working a few weeks back with the HD driver as shown here.

The only thing that has changed to my knowledge happened last week when the Magix update program updated itself.

Do you think there has been a change that has adversely affected systems running the Intel HD driver?

Can others that possibly also run HD drivers check and if running which version of the updater program do they have?

I have version 3.0.0.50

Ah, I just stumbled across this and answers my previous question in another thread about that was it that was updated to 3.0.0.50.

I didn't know that there was an update program.

Hi Mike.

I'm not sure of all its functions but it hangs around when MEP is closed and only closes down when you shut down a computer.

Update Notifier is not an update program for any of the Magix programs where it gets installed, it has 3 functions:

WiFi transfer of images and video from a mobile using Camera MX (an Android camera app) to a PC that has Update Notifier installed and running.
Cloud import from Google Drive and Microsoft One Drive.
Delivers news updates (Info Channels) on new products, upgrades and special offers - these can be turned off.

Update Notifier interface:

It has no other purpose than the above, if you do not use either 1 and/or 2 above, the program can be uninstalled with no harm to the programs that installed it.

It will be re-installed with upgrades unless you specifically set the option not to in the installer dialog.

FWIW, I renamed the Updater executable to "exe.old." It stops the updater executable from running when MEP is running. MEP doesn't complain that it's not running.

And also, FWIW, my Updater executable was time stamped 01/15/2020, which predates my install (and update) date of March 2020.

As I've stated above, I don't show an Updater as a program in the Windows' program list. I installed from boxed DVD, if that makes any difference.
