Popup box appears everytime I start an Audio Recording - HOW TO STOP?

Raymond-Arotin wrote on 11/26/2022, 8:26 AM

Hi. I'm using MMM 2023 Edition, Premium.

Each time I hit the REC button when I'm recording an audio track, there is a very quick "pop-up" window that appears. Sometimes it ruins the timing of my recording. But overall, it's just a general nuisance. Is there anyway to stop it? I had a hard time screen capturing it, as it goes very quickly. But I recorded video of it and then screen captured that. See pictures. Does somebody know how to make MMM stop doing this? Thank you. I appreciate the help.

@Raymond-Arotin

The screen you are seeing is this one:

It is accessed via the "cog" icon I have highlighted. Yours will look different but one of its principal purposes is to ensure that the settings and storage location for your recorded audio file are "correct". So, you should open it as I have explained, check that every detail is correct for you and then click OK.

Hopefully, it will then no longer pop up every time you want to audio record!

I checked my settings.... It seems like all of that is correct. But it still pops up. Oh well. It's not that big a deal, I guess. Especially if I just do my recording in large sessions and then splice them up by editing the audio. I just thought it was weird to have this popup right at that crucial time when you hit the REC button. I'll play around a bit more and see if I can figure anything out. Thanks!

Hi

Are you using a laptop for recording?

If so what is the screen resolution? Also check the Windows settings, Display, Scale option is set to 100%.

Hmm... @johnebaker. I'm confused by that post. I'm using a Desktop computer... but I'm not sure what my video display has to do with this? But maybe I'm wrong, so I'll check it out.

Since there's no type of window setting under Magix Music Maker's Program or Project settings, I'm assuming you mean my main Windows computer display setting...

... it's set to 1920 x 1080, 100%. So that should be good.

It seems like this is some sort "confirmation" dialog box that pops up when I hit the record button. Which, to me, seems like an audio setting issue. But I don't think I have any audio setting issues, that I can tell.

Thanks anyway. I'll just live with it. It's not really hurting anything. It's just odd, is all.

Hi

Thanks for the info, that rules out a potential cause of the incomplete recording dialog.
