I just "went back to" MM25 2018 Premium . when on-line , and closing MM25 I get spamed ! from Magix .

that never happened before . about "Get MM 2019" . well , I tried the upgrade ? patch ? 2019 and it is buggy with Instruments in the MIDI Editor . 2019 is thus pointless . that's why I went back to mm 2018 .

Hi

. . . . How can I disable the pop-up ads from Music Maker? . . .

Uninstall Magix Network Sync if you are not using it and in the Music Maker settings turn on the Hide news option in the Program settings, General options tab.

The popups should then disappear.

I don't seem to have a Magix Network Sync, but I did enable the hide news options. Hopefully that'll be enough. Thanks!

@MichaelH

in window's Fire Wall "Allow programs thru firewall" , look for "Connect" and uncheck the box . If you ever need to use it , just re-check the box . If popups are generated locally within the program , then turning fire wall off won't help . ( uninstalling connect won't help that situation )

Hi

On your computer Magix Network Sync may be called Magix Connect.

None of these solutions work for me as neither Magix Connect nor Network sync are on my list of installed programs, or listed in the Windows Firewall settings.

SP. wrote on 3/1/2024, 8:53 AM

@Robert-Rea The current version is called Magix Update Notifier. Disable it in the Windows Autostart settings or uninstall it. If you install a Magix software, make sure you don't select the option to install additional software or else it will get reinstalled.

Thanks to SP. for your suggestions. I unstalled the software (soundforge cleaning lab4) and did a restart, then reinstalled and did another restart to see if the popup was still there, and it wasn't. Yay! On the reinstall I only chose one of the options, as seen in the screenshot. Apparently the popup update is embedded in one of the other apps, which I don't use anyway Prior to that I did look over the startup apps, which is where Windows 11 takes me if I search for Windows Autostart, and did not find any Magix of Soundforge listings. Perhaps someone knows which of the the unchecked options has the popup?.

@SP.

Hi

. . . . which of the the unchecked options has the popup? . . .

Both Sound Forge and Music Maker installers.

When the installers run, you should have a checkbox option, or an option for a Custom install, to not install the 'additional' software.

. . . . The current version is called Magix Update Notifier . . . .

It may also be called Magix Cloud Import.
