Movie Studio Platinum 2022 downloads but when I click on the exe file to install, it says, "Please wait until the installation components are downloaded completely." There is no progress downloading Movie Studio 2022 Platinum or Music Maker.

Windows 10, 64 bit, AMD

What should I do?

Hi

Several users have reported this issue with the Download Manager.

Check that the indicated HTTP protocols in Windows, Internet options settings are enabled

Try disabling your Firewall, this may be in your antivirus program or the Windows firewall, if this does not allow the download to continue, email Magix at infoservice@magix.net and ask for a direct download link.

Those level of SSL and TLS are no longer safe. It doesn't make sense to make my computer security so weak to install this Magix products. I constantly have problems with the install of Vegas products and add-ons.

Hi and welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

While I understand your legitimate concerns you have to understand this all comes about because of piracy and illegal copying of programs in general. The install wants to send a copy of your computer components to Magix as a way of identifying your computer which would be personal to your machine. Windows will see this as an unauthorised attempt similar to a virus attack and block it but its purpose is to identify you as an authorised user. Once downloaded the firewall / Antivirus can be re-instated. As long as your browser is only connected to the Magix servers there is very little risk of infection from unwanted sources.

Once installed, a lot of us here will add such programs folders to the exceptions from scanning section of our security protocols which stops future problems with downloads or upgrades.

I and many other regular others here have never had a problem with security doing this. Without this type of security Magix and many other software developers could easily go out of business and then there would be less reliable programs out there with less security built in.

Of course you have to make up your own mind about how safe or convenient it is but the users who contribute to the problem solving here have no such qualms or problems.

Ray.

Thank You, I appreciate your insight. What I was referring to in the post is where it suggests internet options like allow SSL 3, should be selected. Why would a download require that. This the install manager download that paused 15 times or more and ran slowly that was the problem and has been the problem before. From inside the product if I see an option to install a component, like Deep Learning Models, when I select to install it id downloads much faster then asks if I want to install immediately or wait for later. I select immediately and it shutdowns Vegas for the install, then does nothing. I associate this to the same problem that the installs never seem to work seamlessly. Then you have to search the knowledge base and you find threads with all kinds of suggestions, some work for some people, some work for others. Can't the install manager be specific about it's requirements? Can't it throw error codes that I can search and see definitive answers if there any. it's an iterative process of search, try, fail, repeat until one answer works. Just make the downloads available directly. My computer can download and do it quickly. what licensing needs to be checked during download?

Hi,

It seems that you're mixing up downloading and installing Magix Movie Studio 2022/2023 with Vegas (Deep Learning Models are with Vegas). As you are probably aware, there has been a huge problem with Vegas 19/20 over the last 2 days. Also, you have replied to an old thread and the problem seems to have been resolved.

As for Magix MS, VPX and older Movie Edit Pro versions, I have never had a download problem on any of my 3 computers with quite different anti-virus protection programs. Some (very few) users do have problems and it always seems to be some over-agressive protection system that just needs to be temporarily overridden and adjusted. For almost all users, there has been no problem with downloading and installing.

So, if your problem is just with Vegas, you are in the wrong forum.

Hi

This is not the forum for Vegas products, they have their own forum - see this comment.

I would suggest you post there regarding the issues you are having with Vegas.

. . . . the install manager download that paused 15 times or more and ran slowly that was the problem and has been the problem before. . . .

This is quite common given the number of routes/connections connection between the PC and the appropriate server which can be interupted anywhere between the PC and server. This is the reason a lot of software uses a Download Manager to enable resumption of the download from the point where it halted instead of have to restart the download.

The issue regarding which Internet protocols should or should not be enabled is a mute one as this depends on the protocols required by the the servers being contacted, which may be governed by the need to support legacy / older software connecting to the servers.

Apologies, I thought I had the correct forum, but this also illustrates how this is a pervasive issue across the products because I do keep landing on articles reporting the same issues across product boundaries and go pretty far back in time. I'm sorry, but your argument is lost on me. These downloads are so slow via the download manager, no wonder there is a higher risk of them being interrupted. But I routinely download 100's of MB files for product installs, and the downloads just don't get interrupted or fail indicating the need for a high-overhead tool to be in the way and need constant manual intervention by pressing a Continue button after it pauses, so it needs to be supervised too. I'll leave at that, since I am in the wrong forum, even though the issues seems to extend across forums.

Hi Bernie,

It seems to be a constant problem with Vegas, from what I see, which is why there is often a sticky with direct download links on the Vegas forum. Check there as there is at least one sticky with a link to an emergency download.

For the Magix products covered by this forum, download speed problems are rarely raised. They usually occur when Magix' servers are overloaded like when a new patch comes out for Music Maker and it's actually the full program that needs to be downloaded and installed. The problem goes away within a day once demand drops.

For Vegas, this is currently a huge problem as most users are trying to download the patches due to Vegas 19/20 just no longer working, it appears. The occurs when a new version is released.
