Hi

. . . . Magix Movie Edit Pro 2015 . . import some uncompressed AVI files . . . . install the following codec to decode the format 'V210'". . . . .

AFAICS the V210 codec requires Quicktime to be installed, however if the V210 is 10 bit encoded video then, AFAIK, MEP 2015 does not support 10 bit video.

MEP 2019 does support 10 bit video, however only in the HEVC codec.

Thanks so much John. i do have Quicktime 7 installed, and when I try to import a MOV file that was created in Adobe Premiere I get a similar message that says "MXMPEG2 Error 0110: no media decoder found".

Unfortunately I'm not very knowledgeable on this "codec" topic, and would not know a 10-bit file from a 1-bit file.....

i guess i can try installing the MEP 2019 trial and see if I get better results.

Thanks again!

Robert

Hi

Use MediaInfo to analyse the file you are trying to import and post the results from the Text view so we can see what codecs are in the file.

@RobertR

Hi

Thanks for the MediaInfo data.

From the data:

AVI file: indicates that it was captured with a XENA LHi Windows Video I/O Card from a video source captured with Adobe Premiere, probably on a MAC and the video colour depth is 10 bit.

This will not import into MEP2015 being 10 bit.

MP4 file: the Audio codec ID - sowt -suggest this is an Adobe intermediate format which AFAIK is MAC only - again, AFAIK this will not import into MEP 2015.

Is this file an export from Adobe Premiere?

In order to get these into MEP 2015 they need converting, or recapturing, to a standard format eg mp4 with h.264 video and AAC audio (or mpg with MPG video and AC3 audio) codecs.

Have these files been captured from live TV stream, VHS video tape or DVD?

John, thanks so much! These files were exported from the Windows version of Premiere. The source files are pro-res digitized from 2" videotape.
