Playing video using MAGIX Xtreme PhotoStory on CD@DVD 7

We have a file made by our video camera type Panasonic VDR-D50. The original form of it is VRO. It has been copied to the hard disk from the camera's DVD and we wanted to use it for a multimedia project made by the a.m. Magix software (insert parts among pictures). The complete length of camera's film file is approx. 33 minutes. The PhotoStory knows this VRO file format, but plays 3 seconds only (this 3 sec is the length of the first part on camera's dvd). What can be the problem and what is the solution to be able to see the complete 33 minutes?

Hi,

PhotoStory and this camera are propably not a very good match. You should consider going with Movie Edit Pro if you want to edit this footage. Aside from the problem you're currently experiencing, I'd also venture to say that you won't get any audio once you import these files. It's MPEG-2 material that probably comes with Dolby Digital audio and PhotoStory 7 just doesn't feature decoding Dolby audio. On Movie Edit Pro, this can be done.

Also, you shouldn't use the VRO files. These are a little problematic and not really standard compliant DVD material. It's a special camera mode for on-camera editing. You should be able to operate the camera in a different mode that will output proper video DVDs with VOB files on them. Make sure to finalize these discs on the camera and try the VOB files in Movie Edit Pro:
