Playback marker doesn't move during playback

I have Magix Music Maker Premium 2017 and have been using it without any problems for a couple of months. Tonight, the playback marker doesn't move when playing anything. I've reset the program preferences to the default settings, but still no movement on the playback marker. Any ideas of what I need to do to get it back to normal would be greatly appreciated.

We need more information:

Is Music Maker Premium 2017 patched up to date - the latest version is 24.1.4.75 ?
What is your Windows version?
Computer specification - include processor make/model, graphics card/chipset, RAM etc
Are the graphics drivers up to date?
Have you done a full shutdown, not a restart, and waited at least 1 minute before rebooting?
Have you checked for Malware on your PC?

Thanks for the tips John. I was able to get things sorted by doing the full shutdown and restart of the computer. I have the latest version of Magix (all current updates installed), and I use Windows 10 on a Dell laptop with 8Gb of RAM. I use Avast and Malware Bytes for antivirus and anti-malware. I think it was just a temporary issue. Again, thanks for the help John.
