I just purchased MEP 2016.  Running on win7, 64 system.

"During playback a vertical line will move across the project window. This is the playback marker that displays the current position. It can be set directly with a mouse click in order to jump to certain positions"

That quote from the Manual and as I remember it from prior editions of MEP.  But since it does not move, it is impossible to tell where in the movie I'm working.  That makes editing almost impossible.  It does not move in individual frame mode or in timeline mode.
