I've never needed to do what you are trying but I suspect it doesn't work because your file is an .mp3. If you first convert it to a .wav and then import it, does it then work?

Thanks for your reply. I have tried importing a wav file. The pitch shift is still unavailable. I am using the Plus version of the software.

Which variant of Music Maker are you using - Free, Plus or Premium and was it an upgrade from an earlier version?
If the Plus or Premium did you download and install alll the Extra content ie Soundpools, Instruments Features and Functions?
Pitch/tempo works fine with mp3's for me - I am using the Premium version.

Thanks for your reply. I am using the Plus version. This was not an upgrade, I purchased the licensed software on disc with a registration code and followed the installation procedure.
I have now, as suggested, downloaded some extra free content (Features) which 'unlocks' the Pitch-shift function.
In answer to the question posed by emmrecs (Jeff) I purchased the software from 'downloadbuyer.com', a software superstore via ebay. Perfectly legal; no issue there.
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to offer help. Much appreciated.
