Hi and welcome to the forum.

Why not down load the free trial versions and test them to see which you prefer - I would advise to extend the trials to 30 days.

Photostory Deluxe has many advanced features that are not available in the Easy version, eg it has a Timeline mode which allows greater and more creative editing control.

Hi,

I agree with what John EB says, but it would be better if you could tell us what you intend to do, in some detail. You may be better off getting Magix Movie Studio Platinum or Suite.

Where do you see PhotoStory "easy?" I only see one version, Deluxe.

Photostory Easy is no longer supported by MAGIX. I was forced to buy Photostory Deluxe, which is (despite its name) vastly inferior to Photostory Easy. Easy was, well, "easy" to use. Photostory Deluxe is devilishly complicated even for the simplest tasks, like loading more than one picture at a time into your slideshow. I still can't figure out how to do that, and the manual's instruction ("click on the CTRL button while selecting images") is completely wrong and non-functional. Photostory Easy was a breeze; Deluxe is a nightmare.

Hi

. . . . devilishly complicated even for the simplest tasks, like loading more than one picture at a time into your slideshow . . . .

It could not be any easier than this, whether adding images, video or both:

If you want a contiguous sequence, hold down the Shift key and left click the first and last in the sequence, then drag and drop on the timeline

Sorry but that does not work. Following the exact procedure you suggested, it takes the first picture and the last picture and drags/drops them into the slideshow. It leaves behind all the pictures in between.

In anticipation of a simple answer to my other question I am building a slideshow manually (takes forever to click on 200+ pictures individually). Now I am at the point where I have to add background music to the slideshow. I have a huge music file on my hard drive to choose from.

There is no explanation anywhere in the manual as to how to add music to a slideshow. When I click on the musical notes icon in the program itself, I get an ad for "free music" but there doesn't seem to be any way of accessing my own music. This must be possible, but there is no explanation of how to do it.
