Patches missing from support page

pmikep wrote on 11/18/2016, 6:15 AM

I've got MEP 17, MX, 2013, 2015 & 2016. Up until recently, I've been able to go to the Magix support page to check for the latest patches for those.

But today (Nov 18) when I went to the support page, there were no listings for my MEP 2015 & 2016. It's like Magix thinks I don't own those versions anymore.

Anyone else having this problem?

(Also, the patche for MEP 2013 was older than the latest patch I have for it. Did Magix's page get hacked or something?)

Started with MEP 11, then 17, then MX, then MEP 2013, 2015, then 2016. Changed to the fast competitor after that, which worked fine with my non-Intel hardware. Then bought a used Dell with an Intel GPU, just to play with MEP again. Installed MEP 2020 Plus in March 2020, even tho I don't like losing patches if I have to reinstall after a year.

Testing on a Dell Vostro, <s>i3-8100</s> updated to i5-9400 w/ UHD 630, 16 GB 2400 DDR4 (CL15), Win10 Home, heavily NTLite'd. Now with GTX-1650 Super OC'd. Added a WD Blue M.2 for OS (PCIe 3), Apps, Temps and Video-In. 2 Monitors. A WD Blue SSD for outputs. (SATA III.)

H; i,

I have already reported this on this forum more than once and to Magix (no reply). It seemed to have started with the 365 versions; none of them had any patches listed even though several had been issued. All I can think of is that patch = upgrade and that if you have not updated during the 1 year and then do not renew, then too bad. Also, if you don't renew but have to reinstall after the 1 year period, then you lose any patches/upgrades that came out during the 1 year period. Thus Magix has stopped giving access to patches for these.

However, as you noticed, most of the patches for the older programs are gone. That is a step backwards. I did notice that one older program that is not on the list did tell me that a patch was available. Still, it was more convenient to see what the latest patch was.

If you click on Miscellaneous Downloads, everything is now in German. So, Magix is mucking around with their site and making a mess, IMHO.

Next up will be the changes to Magix.info. It will look like the new Vegas site, which I think is terrible, at least it is on my tablet.

Hi

. . . . there were no listings for my MEP 2015 & 2016 . . . .

AFAICS:

  1. once you have updated to the latest patch, the patch disappears from the listing.

  2. if you need to re-install the download link is updated to the latest patch version.

  3. out of support versions no longer have the patches available and the download link is the last patched version available.

Hi John EB

1.once you have updated to the latest patch, the patch disappears from the listing.

2.if you need to re-install the download link is updated to the latest patch version.

3.out of support versions no longer have the patches available and the download link is the last patched version available.

1. Not AFAIK, My only patches available are MEP16 and MEP17 (not 2016, 2017) and both have previously been applied to the programs.

2. Not sure about this either because I know from previous experience that the trial version download is not always at the latest patch.

3. See 1.) - I do not think MEP16 circa 2010 is still in support.

Pmikep:-

I think there is a general problem with the manual update system which has been reported in the German user forum as well and there is (or was) a problem with MEP2017's automatic update see: http://www.magix.info/uk/are-there-some-problems-with-the-latest-updates.knowledge.1179503.html.

Magix support have been informed by myself and others but so far no response to the manual patch download site problem.

But today (Nov 18) when I went to the support page, there were no listings for my MEP 2015 & 2016. It's like Magix thinks I don't own those versions anymore.

Do you mean this is because you can not see the patches, or are those versions missing from you purchase products list? I can see all my products but only the couple of older patches as mentioned above.

Peter
