Hi

. . . . I am running Windows 10 . . . .

MEP 17 is not compatible with Windows 10 - Microsoft made many changes to Windows starting with Windows 8 and continued with Windows 10 that has rendered a lot of old software incompatible.

The only solution is to upgrade to a Windows 10 compatible version.

I assume you upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 ?

Yes.  And everything worked fine with windows 7.  I really need to burn a project I just completed last night.  Do you think if I install a trial copy of the newest version it would allow burning capabilities?

Hi

That is unlikely - the trial version is limited to export / burning 3 mins of video.

You can try using the image recorder option in the burn dialog to create an ISO image of the DVD and then use a program such as Nero Burning ROM (paid for) or ImgBurn (freeware) to burn the image to disc.

ECK!!  This is just Murphy's Law... I decided to just install the program on my laptop (which is still running windows 7) and it says I've exceeded my number of activations.  I give up.  Thanks for the help John.

No need to give up yet - send an email to support at magix.com asking them to reset your activation counter, explaining why you need it resetting
