"Overlapped I o operations" message when installing audio lab 17 deluxe

I'm trying to install my cd copy of Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 17 deluxe onto a windows 7 laptop.

But when I try to install I get an error message saying the installation couldn't be completed because of "overlapped I/O installations" before I get anywhere near product codes or anything.

I don't know what this means and googling it didn't help - please can you explain how to fix this in non-techy language because the solutions I googled I didn't understand a word of!

I don't know why it's not working as it's been uninstalled from other laptops and whilst it was on this computer before, it was uninstalled prior to a factory reset, and there's no signs of the software having left any traces on the computer.

Thanks for any help you can give me!!!

Hi

This is actually a Windows issue often associated with either a corrupt user account or an account which does not have full administrator priveleges that you have logged in with.

Since the computer has had a 'factory reset' it is likely the old administrator account is corrupt

Try creating a new administrator account and use this to install the software.
