as @CubeAce correctly reminded me and mentioned if it’s from a third party vendor, you would need to contact them first.

The Extra Content is accessed via Help>Install extra content and simply follow the on-screen instructions. Did you go there?

Hi Carissa.

Magix can only help if you bought the product from the Magix website and not a third party vendor.

If you bought your program from another website you should contact the seller first and see if they can sort the problem out.

I'm a little lost. Why are you clicking on "Activate Content packs?" Do you have a content pack to activate? If so, what?

Which version of MEP did you purchase - basic, Plus, or Premium?

The P3 serial number is to activate the program itself, not additional content packs.

I presumed John if she was activating content pack it would be as per Magix instructions below:

Start the version of MAGIX Movie Edit Pro that you have installed and activate the coupon code in the menu bar under "Help". "Activate content pack(s)". You will find the coupon code on the insert card (box version) or in the email you received following purchase (download version). Activating the coupon automatically downloads and starts the installation setup for the add-on program. Follow the add-on program manufacturer's installation instructions Once you restart your version of MAGIX Movie Edit Pro you'll find the installed add-on program in the Media Pool under "Effects".

As in my earlier post I asked user to go to help, activate content packs and follow instructions. I never got an answer.

I'm not sure whether or not she is trying to activate the program or content that came with the program. It would be good to know this first along with which version. I don't think that putting the serial number for MEP under "Activate content pack" means the program itself, does it?

To Activate content pack as I see it, is to redeem a coupon within the software itself.

Excuse me... I'm running into the exact-same issue.
My Magic-Edit-Pro-Plus does not even have the Fades Tab.
Under help-> Install extra content --> 'Download Extra Content' {button}...

I can see that I get to install many things like 'Fade Effects'. I believe these are not third party items. Are they? As you claim above.

They are showing as 'installed' now.
But I still don't see them. So I tried the 'activation'...

So I try to activate with this command:
help--> Activate content pack(s)

Then I get the dreaded... Enter your Serial number or coupon code. But it doesn't matter what I put. No dice. Yes, of course I tried the P3--- number.

Edit: I'm just going to update... I don't have time. I have many videos to edit by Saturday.... Edit... Oh man updating did nothing. Still same issue. No 'Fades' tab.

The company is called Magix and the I assume the program you have is Movie Edit Pro Plus.

The download Extra Content is the second half of the program which has more effects, features and functions. Third party content is downloaded with their own down load links either in your email confirming purchase and your serial number or in program with serial numbers once the rest is installed - see image below.

Do keep a record of the serial numbers of these extras.

I'm not sure what your highlighting in the image. But either way, I don't have those items.
My 2016 Magix Movie Edit Pro, had a Fades Tab. Now that I've upgraded twice now, it is gone. (once to Magix-Edit-Pro-Plus 2019, and now to 2021). How do I get the 'Fades' tab back, or the functions that it had?

I do not believe it is a 3rd party extra. Lets start with that. I can show you the original email, when I moved to 'Plus', if you would like. I still have it.

Thanks for the clarification.

The Fades tab no longer exists.

The same effects, and more, are now on the Templates tab, grouped by types eg Transitions, Titles, Design elements etc.

Browse through the groups and you will see what they contain.
