Opinions on new MEP MX Plus 18 ?

A little strange that Magix has not advertised this new upgrade version to me who am a user of MEP 17 Plus. I happened to find (!) this version on the internet and downloaded the trial on my PC. I have found little changes which would make it worth spending the money to get the upgrade. I think the most significant improvement is the smooth slow motion effect. What do you others think, is there something really valuable new stuff I have not noticed ? Perhaps it was too perfect already, and I don´t really miss anything new which would not be found on the previous version, but I think a software that is not evolving will lose ground on the market.

Vesku,

The slow motion does make playback look smoother, but it is doing simple cross-fades between frames rather than creating genuinely new images. What I think will be aprticularly useful is the ability to render a complex region on the timeline for smoother preview playback. The rendering may take some time, same as if exporting the same section, but the result is now on the timeline and editing can continue. If you make changes within the pre-rendered section you have the option of re-doing just the necessary bits. I've been playing with MX for only a short time so far but the upgrade seems worth it for sure.

A secondary issues is the unfortunate removal of the 'Visuals' effects. There is some indication from Magix that they may provide a fix so you can use the effects that were included in projects created with earlier versions.

Others will no doubt add their two cents!

Regards,

Carl
