@Bert-Ramdington What is your graphics card? Are the drivers up to date?

Bert-Ramdington wrote on 5/13/2021, 12:47 PM

Intel (R) Q35 Express Chipset Family, Intel (R) GMA 3100. If that helps. My driver appear to be up to date.

SP. wrote on 5/13/2021, 12:53 PM

@Bert-Ramdington It looks like your GMA 3100 only supports Open GL 1.4.

Drats and it's hard to find earlier versions of Magix that might support my graphics card. Thanks anyway. 😃

Kind of strange that this thread is about graphics and I have music maker that uses my sound card hmm?

SP. wrote on 8/26/2021, 7:31 PM

@David-Barselow The graphical user interface of Music Maker needs a graphics card that that supports the OpenGL 2 standard.

Hi

What is the full specification of the computer - see this topic for details of what is required?

Based on the Intel chipset you have quoted the computer is about 14 years old , the Open GL issue may be not be fixable by adding a more modern graphics card that supports Open GL 2, depending the motherboard and processor in your computer.

My graphics still work I must have Open GL 2.0 or higher if Bert doesn't have graphics and he's only at 1.0, but I still get the message when I start up the program

Hi

. . . . I must have Open GL 2.0 or higher . . . . but I still get the message when I start up the program . . . .

Does your PC have 2 graphics GPU's, ie an integrated Intel and a Nvidia or AMD graphics card?

What is the processor, graphics card/chipset and Windows version?

Please quote the processor and graphics card/chipset make and models in full.

HP 8440p EliteBook laptop Intel HD Graphic chipset and 8 GB memory I don't know if this link will help people with their issue with the OpenGL situation but here is the link if it is not a live link in your browser just copy and paste it in the browser's address bar Get OpenCL™ and OpenGL® Compatibility Pack - Microsoft Store

Also after installing this and my requesting support help from Magix's support dept. I can say the the messages at start up have stopped and UI is sharper than ever and fresh!

Hi

According to the HP specs for the HP 8440p EliteBook you have and Intel i7-720QM processor which has no integrated graphics chip.

However the laptop does have a Nvidia NVS 3100M graphics chipset which supports DirectX 11, OpenGL 3.3 and OpenCL 1.1.

The OpenCL™ and OpenGL® Compatibility Pack has updated your GPU drivers Open GL versions to be compatible with Windows 10, this would suggest your Nvidia GPU drivers were very out of date as the later versions for the GPU included the Open GL 3.3 support.

Oh everyone got some good news and bad news which do you want first I'll give you the bad message dialog boxes were hiding behind the programs form window so in retrospect they did not go away sorry for the false report, but the good news program seems to be just fine.

I want to update my situation regarding this thread concerning OpenGL 2.0 not being present if this is still an issue where you were using 2021 MM and upgraded to 2022 MM and got the OpenGL 2.0 error msg. try going to device manager and finding your display adapter clicking on the adapter if you do not see Microsoft Basic Display Adapter you might actually be using a older version of the manufacture's display driver which in return just might have non-compatible drivers for the newer version of MM 2022 like I had. What I did was to roll back the driver and right away I noticed a flicker in the display and it became brighter and more vibrant and then I restarted the computer and I opened MM 2022 and walla! no more error msg. hope this helps everyone.

P.S. Obviously I have a older p.c. and this is why this happened in the first place.
