If Nihon94's tutorial does not help or work then youmay have to disable the internal microphone either in the BIOS or in Device Manager this assumes you are using a microphone that plugs into the 3.5mm socket on the laptop and then follow Nihon94's instructions

This does mean that if you do use the internal mic for, for example Skype, then you do have to re-enable it each time.

Simplest solution is to use a USB microphone - this should be detected and selectable as the recording device in Music Studio and the quality should be better.
