Old version Of Sound Forge

hello ,

it happend that a friend of mine got some cds from a guy who was selling his house etc.. i got some of his stuff , one of them was soundforge 7.0 , this is my first time that i encounter soundforge i normally work on ableton , however upon registration , i believe because it is very old , it wont get registered, i have the serial number and all , but i seriously have no idea why the error keep on showing, if there is anyone who can help me with id appreciate it , i really wanna try this software at least to discover it

Don't know about SF-7, but I have installed other older versions of SF w/o issue (9 and 10). What is the error message? Otherwise,I think you can run it in the demo mode to try it out. Same goes for 8, 9, 10 and 11. FWIW, I prefer the versions prior to 11. SCS forked up the 'Record' and Plug-in Chainer GUI.

hey thanks for replying, the thing is that to try the demo version i need to register , and upon registering there is always this error

Try using the off-line version of registration. I don't think SF has to be 'registered' to try it in the demo mode. There's other restrictions though. Or, try the SF11 demo. If that gives you the same error, you will know it's not a SCS/Magix issue. There are probably versions of SF pro 9 and 10 around for a relative lower cost.
