@KScott Hi, I don't ever recall a square like that. Magix Movie Studio (MMS) has two lengths at the top of the preview window, the cursor position & the Range length,

You can upload a picture showing where you think this square would be using the arrow button next to the smiley at the top of a new comment,

Hi Gid, thanks for reply.

OK, the object time indicator in the last version of MEP is in the first screen shot. (It's on the right end of the bar above the one I gave.

Then I looked again in Movie Studio, and I saw it there as well.... except, it doesn't stay visible. I have to click on the bar above it to see it. As soon as I move to another object, it vanishes. Next 2 screenshots.

Does Magix have a link to accept suggestions?

Almost forgot to mention .... I did see the time indicator at the top of the video/preview screen. Only thing is I have that screen in the second monitor.

@KScott

You have to stay "in" the Size/Position/Rotation effect.

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

That's quite limited, since I spend much more time with other effects.

Former user wrote on 9/25/2023, 9:59 PM

@KScott Hi, it's still there, & you don't have to stay in Size/Position/Rotation, It's prob something to do with your window set-up, you have that window floating so it's either Windows Display or try in Magix - Window - Window arrangement - Rest Windows.

-------------------

I added a bunch of effects & it's still there,

---------

Sorry I can't make that little box go away, must be something to do with your set-up.

Preview on a second monitor it's still there

you don't have to stay in Size/Position/Rotation,

My mistake. As long as you have the Effects tab active, it will be there. It disappears when you go to any of the other tabs.

Hi.

This is only true of earlier versions of Vegas Movie Studio, not Movie Edit Pro. I now understand your comment in your other post about the constant crashing and mouse behaviour.

Vegas Movie Studio has ceased production and been replaced by Magix Movie Studio which is a different program and why the layout has also changed a lot.

So I changed the window arrangement, and VOILA, the little size box seems to be staying put.

There was something wrong with the window arrangement. Before I selected another one, I saved the one I had, but when I went back to it, it was messed up. 😁

Hi Kami.

Fare enough with a gender neutral name but a lot of cultures do spell some same sounding names differently such as Rea and Ray. (But not Tony for instance)

Isn't that correct @Former user (Gideon?) 😂? (Taking a wild Guess).

Ray. (or is it Rea?). 🤣

@CubeAce No it's a nickname i got when i was young, teasing about my real name resulting in several fights, broken nose etc. I've always been 6'2" & everyone always seems to like to hit the big guy, I grew up in a nice semi but hung out with kids from a rough council estate so when my reply to the teasing was 🖕 I got hit. 😂 Gideon was one of the teasing names but that got shortened to Gid which i then accepted because it hid my real name & i think it's a form of acceptance for a kid to get a nickname, Everyone knows me as Gid, I'm a joiner so I'm registered with the tax office as Gid Joiner. 🤷‍♂️
