I have for the first time am using my MAGIX audio cleaning lab 12 for trying to clean actual vinyl's, under record audio, I got everything set up, I get sound just fine, but nothing ever shows on screen and no playback either
If you are getting sound then your playback device is set up correctly. However you also need to set up your record source on your sound card. This will depend on how your audio input is set up.
I set default now to recording playback as you said, now it tells me in the program that it cannot be used that it is already in use, if it helps, it lists 4 different settings:
Microphone Array 2 - USB PnP Audio Device
Internal Mic IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
Microphone/Line In IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
all say ready on them, then I have:
Rec. Playback IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
I set it as default, I guess that was what you meant there, but it says "Currently Unavailable", but it does have a green check by it, so I'm not sure what that means, of course my computer is totally screwed up outside of MAGIX, all my windows programs are gone from my computer, so that may be a lot of that problem, I don't know, I can tell you I no longer have ANY kind of Windows programs on here including my windows media player, everything....., so I don't know!!!

How are yu trying to record your LPs ? Off of some sort of turntable or some newer technical marvel. If you can hear the music, is it from the turntable device or is it coming out of your computer set up?. If its coming out of yur computer then yu have something amiss with the Audio program...its got wrong information or not enough information or maybe both. The messed up Windows stuff shsould have nothing to do with it. Good luck
It's an ION turntable that has USB plugin that plugs into my computer, I have some headphones plugged in and all I know is I hear the music perfectly fine, so I guess from the computer, but I tried the different settings I listed before, but they all have the same results

Where ever yu have your headphones pluged n and hear music, tahen that where you should connect your computer to, hopefully you have external speakers and yu can hear the music as you record it over you new connection...if you dont have external speakers, thats OK because you can ssee the wave forms in tahe Audio Cleaning program. Again, before you start to record, check your settings, such as sample rate, volumne, lenght of timeyou want to record...that sort of stuff....then make a short test to be sure you are getting what you want, and make corrections if necessary...if all is well, just go for it and record our LPs.....remember tho' that not all tracks are/were recorded at the same volumne level so you might have to do a little tweeking,,,,but then the program tells you if the level is optimum. Good luck, have fun, its a pretty neat little program that has a lot of bells and whistles.
